Aviiid - Third Age Living

Aviiid prepares to launch fund

Financial Standard:  Aviiid Third-age Living has appointed Pillar and Australian Unity director Eve Crestani as chairman and expanded its executive team, ahead of the launch of a new fund early next year.

Aviiid, an investment funds and superannuation manager, invests in senior housing, lifestyle and care choices and operating companies relating to this industry.

The firm appointed Crestani who has over 30 years experience in financial and professional services as chair.
She is also a board member for Mercer Investment Nominees, Risk Committee and Human Resources, Remuneration and Nominations Committee.

Her appointment comes before the launch of the firm's new fund, which will target super funds to invest members' capital in assets that could ultimately provide accommodation and care to their members, said managing director Scott Marinchek.

"To that extent we think it is a really great fit," said Marinchek of the fund.

Marinchek said Aviiid has looked at some offshore senior housing and aged care assets and used its investment management capabilities for a debt fund, but is currently focused on the Australian market.

In addition to Crestani, other appointments include Andrew Kentmann as non-executive director nominee, Lois Towart as senior research analyst, James McNally as head of compliance, Sean Yuen as senior risk analyst and Henrik Alksnis as senior accountant.

Marinchek said that further executive appointments would be made that will focus on the operational level as fund acquisitions are finalised.
